Terry is a passionate and creative PR visionary. Taking a comprehensive approach to public relations, she successfully oversees Davenport Communications Group's exclusive brand development and event management division to fulfill client goals and objectives. She brings to this enterprise a wealth of experience in corporate, nonprofit and governmental environments.
Enlisting in the United States Air Force in 1989, Terry began a successful ten-year career as a non-commissioned officer in several organizations and capacities to include Public Affairs, Protocol and the Judge Advocate General (JAG). She wrote for base newspapers and organized high level, distinguished visitor events to include the Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff and the Secretary of the Air Force receiving numerous awards and recognition. Following her honorable discharge in 1999, Terry entered corporate America as Customer Service and Community Liaison Director for a major health care provider. For eleven years, her role was to build relationships and partner with individuals, groups and agencies who shared the organization's mission. Her work included spearheading special event and community outreach initiatives. Paying special attention to brand integrity and organizational positioning was critical to her success.
Terry serves on several local boards and committees. Current and past affiliations include: Public Relations Society of America, National Urban League, National Association for the Advancement of Colored People, National Exchange Club, Black Women Veterans Association, Leadership South Carolina, and the Dale Carnegie Leadership Program. She attended the University of South Carolina majoring in business and holds a master's degree in management from Southern Wesleyan University.
